One of the ironies in the enterprise software world, in my opinion, is the greenwashing by ERP companies. True, these companies have reduced their environmental footprint – while sponsoring car racing, yacht racing, tennis stars etc. True, these companies have delivered software that enables monitoring your carbon footprint – while doing little to reduce the software code footprint that requires more equipment (and more power) than is necessary with modern software coding practices.
