Rising Backlash against Smart Cities Hype

Any good technology idea comes to ruin quickly thanks to technology vendors. These are the vendors who continuously rebrand in light of the most recent technology shiny objects: big data, cloud, IoT, artificial intelligence.

The problem with this marketing approach is that most observers are not fooled. The gap between marketing hype and reality is all too real: the single project hyped as “smart”, or the old technology hyped as “smart”.
