Doug Hadden

I’ve been attending Cloud Computing Expo in Santa Clara California this week. My observations from the conference (details below) on cloud computing trends are:

  1. The Privacy Elephant in the Room
  2. Cloud + Enterprise Better Understood than Cloud + Newer Technologies
  3. Cloud Market is Maturing Rapidly
  4. Cloud Misunderstanding Persists and Vendors Aren’t Helping Their Cause
  5. Hybrid Cloud is (primarily) a Transitional Solution, Evidence Points to Larger Adoption of Public Cloud vs. Private
  6. Enterprise Software Empire Striking Back
  7. Cloud + Open Gives Economies of Scale Beyond That Enjoyed by Large Enterprise Software Firms
  8. Cloud Security Good Practices Emerging to Overcome Major Rationale for not Adopting
  9. Cloud is Innovation Infrastructure where APIs are Critical to Transformation
  10. Cloud Licensing is the Other Elephant in the Room
  11. he Future of the IT is Service
  12. IT and Businesses Gaining Insight into Risk Management Thanks to the Cloud Calculus
