Day 1 at Web Summit: The changing face of cloud

November 8, 2016

This week more than 50,000 people will converge on Lisbon, Portugal for what has been referred to as ‘the best technology conference on the planet’, Web Summit 2016.

With more than 21 different conferences, from the auto sector, health care, SaaS, and of course the public sector, Web Summit offers great insight into how the world is changing.

As leaders in smart government technology, FreeBalance Inc. has sent a team to take part in the event. Each day we will recap the day’s events.

On Day 1, FreeBalance Director of R&D, Gabriel Silva had this to say:

Be it private or public cloud, the industry is seeing unprecedented growth. One of the main challenges is managing and maintaining these global infrastructures that are nowhere and everywhere at the same time.

Not to mention, technologies working in these cloud environments are seeing major change. As the world shifts from monolithic structures to micro-services, everything from top to bottom is realigning to this new reality.

With that being said, the first and most important thing is the mind-set of the companies working in the cloud.

Enter SMART technologies.

Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT), Smart technology will change the established geologic layers of development.

From UI to data access, smart technologies can even transform the service-oriented architecture (SOA) concept into something that is only partially perceptive at this moment.

We are at the edge of a new era. We are the pioneers of the unknown reality. Web Summit offers a new and fresh look at what is going on around the world. At FreeBalance we are listening, and embracing these fantastic opportunities.
