FreeBalance recently participated in a high-level Canadian business delegation to Guyana, aimed at deepening trade ties and supporting the country’s ambitious modernization agenda. Organized by the High Commission of Canada, the mission focused on fostering innovation-driven partnerships between the two nations.

The four-day program included market intelligence sessions, site visits to key development zones, and strategic meetings with government ministers and heads of national agencies.

During the mission, High Commissioner of Canada to Guyana, His Excellency Sebastien Sigouin, noted that the initiative reflects a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. He emphasized that the partnership seeks to encourage innovation and complement Guyana’s expanding digital economy and infrastructure growth.

A Twenty-Year Legacy of PFM Reform

FreeBalance has been a dedicated partner to the Government of Guyana for over two decades. In 2004, the company implemented a robust Integrated Financial Management and Accounting System (IFMAS) across all government agencies. This project, supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank, established a foundation for modernizing the nation’s public finances.

Since that initial implementation, FreeBalance has worked closely with local stakeholders to:
